Dorking 1st XI made it five league wins on the spin with a superb 119-run victory over table-topping Epsom at Pixham Lane.
After winning the toss, Dorking elected to bat first and battled their way to 171, a total that looked competitive but far from commanding against the division's leading side. Contributions throughout the innings ensured Dorking had something to bowl at, but few could have predicted what was to follow.
With Epsom needing 172 for victory, Dorking's opening attack of Chris Weill and Charlie Kenway immediately seized control. Bowling with exceptional discipline and ruthless accuracy, the pair gave the visitors no room to score and no chance to settle. Every over built pressure, every spell asked questions, and Epsom's highly regarded batting line-up simply had no answer.
Weill struck early blows, finding the perfect areas and making life uncomfortable from the outset, while Kenway matched him ball for ball, maintaining relentless pressure and forcing mistakes. The new-ball partnership set the tone for the entire innings and turned the chase into a battle for survival.
As wickets tumbled and Epsom's hopes faded, Ben Rogers arrived to finish the job in style. Continuing the accuracy and intensity established by Weill and Kenway, Rogers ensured there would be no recovery, helping to wrap up a devastating bowling performance that dismantled the league leaders.
Backed by sharp fielding and an energy-filled display in the field, Dorking never allowed Epsom a route back into the contest. Every chance was greeted with enthusiasm, every wicket increased the belief, and the home side sensed they were producing something special.
The result was an extraordinary collapse. Epsom, who started the day at the top of the table, were bowled out for just 52, handing Dorking a resounding 119-run victory.
This was a win built on teamwork, discipline and relentless pressure, but the bowling efforts of Chris Weill, Charlie Kenway and Ben Rogers were at the heart of it all. Weill and Kenway blew the game open with a sensational opening spell, and Rogers helped finish things off as Dorking completed one of their most impressive performances of the season.
Five wins from five. League leaders beaten. Epsom skittled for 52.
