Club

I would like to thank you all for giving me this opportunity and having the trust in me to lead the club during the 2018 season and beyond. I would also like to congratulate fellow committee members for being re-elected and newly-elected.

Firstly, I would like to take this opportunity to thank my predecessor Scott Kelsey for all of his hard work and effort over the previous four years. With Scott at the helm, he has led the club to great success and has been able to get the club back where it belongs. Achieving 3 promotions in 4 seasons is unprecedented and I will aim to ensure all this effort does not go to waste. I am sure you will all join me in thanking Scott personally for his true dedication to Dorking Cricket Club.

Ever since my arrival in Dorking in 2008 I have felt completely at home and would like to place on record my personal appreciation for all the support you have given me. I have always felt passionately about the club and this is why I have maintained a strong ambition to one day lead the club. We are a club that has made considerable strides recently and as captain I will aim to continue this. We have exciting new plans proposed and with the recent arrival of head coach Tom Lister, I feel the club are very well positioned to grow further.
Furthermore, I would like to congratulate the 2nd XI on a brilliant promotion last year and to the Surrey Trust Cup winners. These were two fantastic achievements and clearly demonstrates the progress in the club’s development.

I hope you are all looking forward to the 2018 as much as I am. An email will be sent over in due course regarding club nets. In the meantime, have a wonderful Christmas and happy New Year.

Toby
