DCC Membership 2020 and Some Cricket on the Horizon

Dear All

We are delighted to say that we are now in a position to start playing some cricket down at Pixham .

You will no doubt all have seen the guidance produced by the ECB and the Surrey Cricket Foundation updates over the last few days and weeks. We have considered all of this carefully and will start to put this into practice at Dorking CC in the next couple of weeks. We will start small and gradually build up as permitted and when, and only when, we as an EXCOM are happy that it is safe and practicable to do so.

There will be many rules and regulations to follow - more on this in my next e-mail.
• We will start with 2 nets open for a maximum of 3 people each and 1 cage on the outfield for a maximum of 6 people. We are not offering any coaching to start with so the groups should be friends and families. Social distancing rules will apply for any groups other than those with only players from the same household. For any groups which include children under the age of 16 there should be at least one adult in the group. The sessions will run for 50 minutes from 5 past the hour to 5 to the hour - this is to allow time for people to come and go safely and for all touchpoints to be sanitised in between sessions.
• This does mean that not everyone may be able to take part at the moment - we will limit the number of sessions that you can book so that we can get as many people playing as possible and we will continue to work on setting up small group training sessions over the next weeks. More to follow on that in due course.
• Details of all participants will be required when booking - it will not be possible for anyone who has not booked to turn up and play.
• We will have a club representative present at each session who will be in overall charge of the session -their decision will be final in all matters arising during the session.
• Please note that there will be strictly no access to the clubhouse and no toilet facilities, changing facilities or access to water. This will be the case even if it is open whilst work is taking place in the clubhouse - those inside will have strict instructions not to let anyone in. The club representative will have access to a first aid kit and all will have access to hand sanitiser.
We did say there would be many rules and regulations - this is just a few basics for now!!
• It hopefully goes without saying that anyone who has coronavirus symptoms, is self-isolating, in quarantine or is shielding should not be taking part in these sessions. The decision for those who are classed as vulnerable will be yours to make - if you let me know when you are booking we will do what we can to make it as safe as possible for you but the ultimate decision will be down to you.
• Sharing of equipment, including balls, will not be possible outside of households - we will provide a set of stumps in each net and all the necessary social distancing markings and hand sanitiser. Outside of this we do not want the lack of equipment to be the reason that anyone is unable to participate so please do get in contact with me if there is anything that you don't have and we will see what we can do.
• Please note that Romida Cricket in Leatherhead is re-opening this Monday 15th June. Their opening hours will be 10:00am to 5pm Mondays to Fridays and 9am to 3pm on Saturdays. They have new safety guidelines in place including in-store customer limits, cashless payments, 2m social distancing and hand sanitising/washing stations. Further details can be found at www.romida.co.uk
• In order to participate and to book a session you will need to be a paid up member of Dorking CC and to have completed a membership form and returned this to me. At this time we are asking all members to pay £10 - this will be reviewed as and when we move to Level 4 of the Roadmap to Return to Recreational Cricket and are able to start playing as teams, albeit under the adapted gameplay guidance. The ECB and SCF are cautiously optimistic that we will be able to play some meaningful cricket later this season, hopefully as early as July. Kind regards

We have attached an adapted membership form - please complete this and return to me by e-mail as soon as possible and make payment by bank transfer. If you are unable to e-mail the form back to me or to pay online let me know and we can agree how to get this to us - we are trying to avoid hard copies and the postal system as far as possible as letters can take longer than usual at the moment to reach their destination
