Oli Cutmore rescued the hosts with a superb 67 before Freddie Henderson claimed four for 17 as London Gymkhana were bowled out for 134 in pursuit of Dorking’s 190.

After winning the toss and choosing to bat, Dorking found themselves under early pressure when Max Dymond and Cam Homewood departed with only 14 runs on the board.

Cutmore took responsibility for rebuilding the innings and found an attacking partner in Dan Asiedu, who struck five boundaries in a lively 22 from 20 deliveries.

The pair lifted Dorking to 45 before Asiedu fell, but Cutmore continued to anchor the innings. He then shared a valuable 52-run partnership with Toby de la Hoyde, gradually restoring control and carrying the hosts towards three figures.

De la Hoyde was dismissed for 12 with the score on 97, but Cutmore remained composed. His excellent 67 came from 100 deliveries and included nine fours, providing Dorking with the platform they desperately needed.

Rob Fairhurst added a determined 18, while Sam Cockburn contributed an important 20 from 28 balls. Cutmore eventually departed at 157 for six, but the lower order continued to battle and carried Dorking to a competitive 190 from their 40 overs.

London Gymkhana’s pursuit was soon disrupted by Dorking’s disciplined attack.

Cockburn made the first breakthrough when A Raza was caught by Asiedu for three. Henderson then took centre stage, removing A Iqbal for 13 before dismissing F Ahmed for three to leave the visitors in serious trouble.

H Dahri attempted to repair the damage with a patient 25 from 56 deliveries, but captain Dan Killick ended his resistance with Kempson-Hayes taking the catch.

De la Hoyde then removed F Abbas for five, courtesy of a catch from Cutmore, as London Gymkhana struggled to build a partnership capable of threatening the target.

H Daud made 13 before being bowled by Kempson-Hayes, who struck again to dismiss N Ahmed for 15. W Minhas offered further resistance with a brisk 16 from 19 balls, but Henderson returned to bowl him and extinguish the visitors’ remaining hopes.

Cockburn claimed his second wicket by bowling N Rafique for 11, before Henderson completed an excellent four-wicket haul when U Butt was caught by Kempson-Hayes for two.

London Gymkhana were dismissed for 134 in 34.1 overs, with Dorking’s bowlers sharing the responsibility throughout an accomplished team performance.

Henderson led the way with four for 17, while Cockburn and Kempson-Hayes collected two wickets apiece. De la Hoyde and Killick also claimed one each as all five bowlers contributed to the victory.

The visitors’ total was boosted by 28 extras, but Dorking remained firmly in control and completed a deserved 56-run triumph.

The victory earned Dorking the full 20 points and lifted the Third XI into third place in Division 10 East Central on 202 points, maintaining the pressure on second-placed Reigate Priory.
