On another hot, summers day, Dorking made the journey to Croydon to play Old Whits. Old Whits won the toss and elected to bowl first with the England Quarter Final firmly in the mind. Opener Erasmus and Myers took to the crease and looked to score positively. This was a plan that worked for Dorking as they raced the score along and struck boundaries all around the ground. Myers who was in a unusual position at the top of the order, took his opportunity with both arms and gave the side some fantastic momentum and took the pressure off the rest of the side. Jack reached his 50 off 53 balls and was a perfect foil for Erasmus. Following the drinks break, Myers fell with the score on 142 and a flurry of wickets left Dorking at 160-4. A rebuilding job was needed and Homewood (19) provided able support for Erasmus, with the pair putting on 80 runs with Erasmus reaching yet another century from 98 balls. Homewood fell for a crucial 19 in the context of the game and with Rogers falling unfortunately run out without facing, Dorking found themselves with 240-6 from 40 overs. Captain Blood joined Erasmus and raced to 31 with 3 fours and 1 six, pushing the score to 286-7. Erasmus fell in what turned out to be the final over for 149, as Dorking declared their innings after 45 overs.

With the England scoring ringing in the Dorking players' ears, the boys headed out to claim 10 wickets for a crucial win. It was a tough start as Old Whits came out fighting and reached 47 before the fall of the first wicket. Douthwaite followed up his first with the crucial wicket of captain Clarke second ball. Shah and Rana consolidated for the home before Erasmus returned to have the number taking in the slips. Corbett joined the attack and claimed the wicket of Jaffery with the score on 87. Patience was the order of the day with 55 overs to bowl Whits out. This was needed when the partnership for 5th wicket frustrated Dorking. However, Dan Douthwaite returned to blast 2 quick wickets. Edwards, Myers added to the wicket tally before Corbett took the final wicket, clean bowling Russell with the score on 199. 24 crucial points with 8 games to go.
